Maxim Chambers, Account Manager at Checkin Apartments, recently enjoyed a stay at Q Square in Brighton. A last-minute coastal getaway that evolved into a memorable weekend combining classic seaside nostalgia with modern apartment living.
Travelling with his partner, the trip marked a rare free weekend together, making the choice of accommodation all the more important. Set just moments from the seafront and within easy reach of the city’s vibrant lanes, Q Square offered a well-positioned base to experience Brighton at its liveliest particularly as the visit coincided with the buzz of the Brighton Marathon.
The weekend began with an unexpected highlight: an upgrade to a penthouse apartment. Elevated above the city, the views stretched across Brighton’s iconic coastline, delivering uninterrupted sea vistas under clear blue skies. The blustery conditions only added to the atmosphere, capturing that unmistakable British seaside charm especially along the historic Brighton Palace Pier.
The property itself delivered on both comfort and practicality. As a newly developed building, the apartments feel fresh, modern, and thoughtfully designed. Interiors strike a balance between clean, minimalist finishes and more playful, urban-inspired artwork creating a space that feels both stylish and relaxed.

Maxim and his partner stayed in an open-plan studio apartment, designed with flexibility in mind. Large windows allowed for an abundance of natural light, enhancing the sense of space, while blackout blinds ensured a restful night’s sleep. The fully equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare meals and enjoy slower moments, complemented by a welcome hamper that added a thoughtful touch to the stay.

The wider building facilities align well with both short leisure stays and longer corporate bookings. Guests benefit from amenities including a gym, lift access, luggage storage, and a convenient reception area offering essentials such as chilled drinks. The ability to store luggage before check-in and after departure proved particularly valuable, allowing for a seamless experience.
For Maxim, the trip carried a sense of nostalgia, having visited Brighton frequently in his teenage years. Sharing that experience with his partner brought a fresh perspective introducing her to traditional seaside culture, from Victorian-era leisure history to the simple pleasures of arcade games.
Food was another highlight of the stay, with a visit to the well-known Regency Restaurant for quintessential fish and chips.
Despite the comfort of the apartment, much of the weekend was spent exploring, walking along the seafront, navigating the lively marathon crowds, and making the most of Brighton’s energy. In fact, the only real drawback noted was not having enough time to fully enjoy the apartment itself.
Overall, Q Square Brighton offers a strong combination of location, modern design, and practical amenities well suited to both leisure travellers and corporate guests seeking a high-quality serviced apartment in one of the UK’s most famous seaside cities.
